Situated next door to famous Saar producers Egon Müller and Hanno Zilliken, Peter Lauer is fast earning cult wine status. Unlike his neighbors who are best known for styles with higher levels of residual sugar, Lauer is focused on dry and off-dry styles of Riesling. The majority of his grapes are sourced from the hillside of the Ayler Kupp.
Made from not exclusively estate grown grapes, the Barrel X is a snappy Riesling with lovely slate aromas, and crunchy piquant citrus flavours. Juicy and a touch sweet, it has around 20 to 22 grams of residual sugar.
