Volcanic wine! Passopisciaro, created by Andrea Franchetti in 2000, has 26 hectares of Nerello Mascalase vines spread over 5 different contrada on the eastern slopes of the 3,330 meter high Mount Etna volcano. The Passorosso is made from grapes harvested from the vineyards of Malpasso, Guardiola, Santo Spirito, Favazza and Arcuria. Garnet red in the glass, it displays savoury notes of bing cherries, camphor, sandalwood, and spice.
