The Massaya wine estate was created in 1998 by the Ghosn brothers, Sami and Ramzi. They had been forced to escape Lebanon at the outbreak of civil war in 1975, only returning in 1992. Today they own vineyards in the Beqaa Valley and a small amount of vineyards on Mount Lebanon. The Brunier family of Vieux Télégraphe and the Hebrard family, formerly of Château Cheval Blanc, are partners in the winery.
