Le Haut-Medoc de Lagrange is the third wine from famed producer Château Lagrange. Situated in the Saint-Julien appellation, this winery is one of fourteen Troisièmes Crus (Third Growths) of Bordeaux. Looking to expand their holdings, the owners of the estate decided to purchase a vineyard in the neighbouring village of Saint-Laurent de Médoc. Located within the Haut-Medoc appellation, the vines sit on a hill with a westward slope and gravelly soil. Once harvested, the grapes are brought to the winery in Saint-Julien. The blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot is aged in 100% French oak barrels. Ruby red in colour,full bodied with fine tannins, this wine has classic notes of red currants, black cherries, licorice, pencil shavings, and menthol. This wine offers the quality of a Troisièmes Crus for the price of a Cru Bourgeois, and will age gracefully for the next 5 to 10 years.
