Located at the southern edge of Beaujolais in the village of Anse, Domaine Saint-Cyr is managed by the amiable Raphael Saint-Cyr. A 4th generation vigneron, Raphael took over the estate in 2008. Upon taking the mantle of ownership, Rapael sold a large portion of vines around the winery and purchased vines in the crus of Morgon, Regnié, Chénas, and Moulin-à-Vent. The entirety of his holdings have been converted to organic farming. The cuvée’s La Galoche Blanc and Rouge represent the majority of his production. The grapes were hand-harvested from vineyards in Les Pierres Dorées. The oldest vines were planted in the 1950’s.

This is a benchmark example of young Beaujolais rouge. The Gamay grapes fermented for one week with cold carbonic maceration; lifting the wine's aromatic profile. Aged 6 months in a concrete tank, it was bottled with only 10 mg SO2. Pale ruby-purple in color, this playful wine presents notes of raspberry, pomegranate, violet, and wet earth. Slightly tannic and fruit forward, it’s a wine best enjoyed with a slight chill.
