The 11 hectare Kamara Estate was created in 2010 by Dimitrios Kioutsoukis. Located in northern Greece near Thessaloniki, the vineyards are farmed without pesticides or insecticides. In the words of Dimitrios – “Nature is the real winemaker, man is her assistant”.
This is how the importer described the Nimbus Albus – “This wine is a blend of equal parts Malagousia and Assyrtiko. The former is planted on clay- loam while the latter is planted in slightly siltier soils. The vines are only ten years old but are already showing great maturity. The grapes are cold soaked for a day or two after harvest and then are pressed into stainless steel. Each variety ferments separately but after racking off the gross lees they are blended for élevage. After three months in tank the wine is bottled with minimal sulphur. 12.5% ABV”
