Located in Vasto, Abruzzo, along the Adriatic coast is the Jasci & Marchesani winery. Founded in 1978 by Sebastiano Jasci, this was one of the earliest Italian wineries to adopt organic farming techniques. With the help of his wife, Lucia Marchesani, Sebastiano started by selling wines exclusively with the locals near the town. He would load up the wines into their little truck and deliver everything himself. Eventually they were joined by their sons Ludovico and Nicola, who manage the winery today.
The Jasci & Marchesani Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is made from 100% Montepulciano harvested from plots in Vasto, Monteodorisio, and Casalbordino. It was aged 6 months in oak barrels.
