Description
Intellego was created in 2009 by Lammershoek assistant winemaker, Jurgen Gouws, who has worked with some of Swartlands biggest names (Eben Sadie, Tom Lubbe, and Craig ‘El Bandito’ Hawkins). He also worked in France with Stephane Ogier in Côte-Rotie. The name of the winery translates “to understand” in Latin. The fruit for Gouws’ wines come from leased vineyards and purchased fruit. His preference is for dry farmed bush vines that are farmed organically.
The Intellego Dry Land Chenin Blanc is made from hand harvested grapes that were whole-bunch pressed and fermented on the gross lees in old 500L barrels. Ageing was for 11 months.
