Il Farneto is the project of Marco Bertoni. Located in the hills above Modena and Emilia Romagna along the Secchia river, this estate started with 6 hectares of vines planted in the 1990’s. Run biodynamically since 2003, the winery is worlds apart from the large, industrial wineries that dominate the area.  Under the helm of winemaker natural Tommaso Turci, Il Farneto produces wines from indigenous grape varieties using only natural yeasts and traditional methods.

The Giandon Rosso is made from a blend of Malbo Gentile, Lambrusco, and Marzemino. A fresh and juicy wine that is slightly earthy with good acidity, it’s the perfect table wine.
