Gut Oggau Timotheus
These weird and wacky whites are perfect for those looking for something off the beaten path. These include wines from unique grape varieties and regions, unfiltered / cloudy whites, orange wines and much more. Each bottle is an adventure in itself!
Created by Eduard and Stephanie Tscheppe in 2007, Gut Oggau is a leader in the movement towards sustanable and natural winemaking in Austria's Burgenland wine region. Working with vines that haven't seen pesticides or chemical treatments for over 20 years, they are able to bottle wines with incredible life and vigour. The Gut Oggau Timotheus is made from a blend of Gruner Veltliner and Weissburgunder that was fermented and aged in used 500-liter barrels.
When Eduard and Stephanie started Gut Oggau they noticed that each wine had a distinct personality just like people. Each wine has been labelled and named based on an evolving personality that grows from vintage to vintage. This is how they describe Timotheus - "The son of Mechthild and Bertholdi, and the brother of Joshuari and Emmeram. He impresses people with his strong, powerful, and balanced character. He stands with both feet firmly planted on the ground, but is nonetheless open-minded and always looking for new challenges. He is regarded as self-confident, a man of substance and even refined, he is someone, who due to his winning ways, quickly makes friends anywhere"
