Giant Steps was created by Phil Sexton, who moved to the Yarra Valley to realize his dream of producing cool climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from single vineyard sites. The name of the winery was inspired by an album of the same name created by John Coltrane. Joined by winemaker Steve Flamsteed in 2003, the winery has received global acclaim and established a strong reputation.

The Giant Steps Yarra Valley Chardonnay is made from grapes hand harvested from the Sexton, Tarraford and Applejack vineyards. The wine was matured in French oak barrels (10% new) for 8 months.
