Just over a mile from the sea on the southern tip of the island of Sicily, Antonio Moretti, owner of Tenuta Sette Ponti and Poggio al Lupo in Tuscany, established Feudo Maccari in 2000. This 100 hectare  estate was assembled from numerous owners and more than 50 separate plots on the southerly hillsides near the town of Noto. The Feudo Maccari vineyards are situated in three separate parcels whose different soils, altitudes and exposures promote complexity in the fruit and in the wine.

The Feudo Maccari Neré is made from 100% Nero d’Avola. Fermentation and ageing was in stainless steel tanks.
