From the distillery – “Eau Claire is a handcrafted, small batch producer of an array of spirits, but our true raison d’etre is to produce world class whisky. Alberta is known as one of the best producers of barley and rye in the world, so it is only natural that we turn that agricultural gold into fine whiskies. If we ship our grain to Scotland to make scotch, why don’t we make it here at home? For the first time, now we do. Eau Claire Distillery is Alberta’s first craft distillery and, more importantly, its first Single Malt Whisky Distillery. Using our uniquely sourced grain, combined with our horse farming operation, Eau Claire is producing premium whiskies and aging them traditionally in oak barrels.”
