The País variety has been with us ever since the beginning of Chile’s history. It arrived here in the XVI century from Spain. In large part our winemaking history was forged thanks to this variety. In the almost 10,000 hectares planted in Chile, it is a patrimonial variety par excellence, with the vast majority of the vines found in the Maule, Itata, and Bio-Bio Valleys.
